Just one year ago in November the community of El Segundo came together to celebrate as voters overwhelmingly supported Measure M – the $14 million bond initiative to improve and address safety issues in El Segundo High School’s auditorium and the outdoor athletic facility. Twelve short months later, it is with great excitement that the District report a highly successful first year of planning and design for both facilities. Much has happened since the passage of Measure M. The planning and design process involved numerous meetings with facility users, theatre and athletic specialists, community members and district staff. The design and construction documents have been completed and submitted to the Department of State Architects for review and approval which should be completed by July of 2010. Construction is slated to begin September of 2010 with a scheduled completion date of May 2011.
