Reach Out Against Drugs (ROAD), in partnership with ESUSD, has worked since 1988 to empower student leaders and provide alcohol and drug abuse awareness, education, and prevention in our schools and throughout the El Segundo community.
In 2020, ROAD dissolved, as the school district had started to run and maintain the programs that were established during the early years of the organization.
Former members of ROAD came to the September 12 board meeting to speak about the legacy of ROAD and to present ESUSD with a donation of over $64,000 from the remaining funds of the ROAD account.
The district can use the funds for alcohol and drug abuse education and prevention, social-emotional learning and support, and resources or education for parents and students addressing substance abuse matters.
We’re incredibly grateful for this contribution!
Attendance matters! This school year, we’re emphasizing the importance of students being in school on time each day. Here are some tips to make this happen:
âś…Set a consistent bedtime & wake-up routine
âś…Have a backup plan to get to school if unexpected challenges arise
✅Schedule appointments & trips for times when school’s not in session
âś…Discuss the importance of good attendance as a family
✅Check in with your child’s teacher about their attendance
We’re here for you! Contact your child’s school office if you need assistance with attendance or any other issues. 🌟
Are you feeling depressed, anxious, or stressed? It’s completely normal!
Students, if you could use a little extra help, stop by to see a counselor at any time. They are here to help you work through any issues you’re experiencing—just like they do for many of your peers! 💚
