On October 4, 2021, Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) Superintendent Debra Duardo visited El Segundo High School and Richmond Street School.
This year, one of her goals is to visit more school districts in Los Angeles county. At ESUSD, she was pleased to find “evidence-based, well-designed programs that keep students thriving and engaged in learning.”
“It’s been a wonderful visit,” said Duardo. “Every classroom I walked into, I saw students who were really engaged in learning and the teachers did an amazing job of engaging students – not by lecturing at them, but by really offering the students an opportunity to teach and grow together.”
