Center Street 5th grade students recently visited the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, where they explored themes of leadership, democracy, and civic responsibility.
One highlight was re-enacting a real situation faced by President Reagan and his cabinet, giving students a look at decision making and teamwork. This interactive experience deepened their understanding of American history and government, fostering curiosity and preparing them to be engaged citizens!
Throughout October, Center Street School staff will be wearing pink on Wednesdays to show support for those affected by breast cancer! 🩷

This is an exciting event that promotes healthy habits, sustainability, and community spirit. Students, families, and staff came together to enjoy a morning of walking and biking to school, reducing traffic congestion and making our school environment safer and greener.
It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces as we kicked off the day with exercise and fresh air. Thank you to our wonderful PTA for organizing the event!
Fifth graders in Mrs. Leonard's class have been reading @kaaauthor’s “Home of the Brave,” and were excited to hear about her visit!
When they learned that there wasn't enough room for 5th graders at the assembly, they took matters into their own hands! The students wrote a persuasive letter to Ms. Applegate and delivered it to her personally upon her arrival at school. Their initiative and persuasive writing skills impressed everyone, and it was a great example of students using their voice to make a difference.
The best part is... it worked! Ms. Applegate paid a special visit to their classroom.
Who was more excited, the teachers or the students? Debatable...
Photographed with Ms. Applegate are 5th grade teachers Mrs. Leonard and Dr. Felix!
The Eagle’s Nest annual fall field trip to the pumpkin patch is always a memorable one! 🎃
Staff sprinkle the students as they walk into the patch wearing their school shirts proudly. This year they received VIP wristbands and felt super special. They enjoyed train rides, jumpers, tractor rides, face painting, and lots of pumpkins!
Our student and teacher-led climate club is making waves at the Water Festival by West Basin! Together, we're volunteering, learning, and leading the way toward a sustainable future. Stay tuned for more updates and tips on how you can make a difference in our community. Let’s protect our planet, one drop at a time!
In collaboration with Pages Bookstore, we were thrilled to host New York Times bestselling authors Katherine Applegate and Gennifer Choldenko for a special assembly!
Our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade students heard inspiring stories of how these two award-winning authors found their path to success. The assembly included exciting writing tips for young authors, fun and practical dog training advice, and valuable information on supporting dog shelters—inspired by their newly published Dogtown series that they co-authored!
It was an engaging and memorable experience for all who attended!
